About St. Paul's

St. Paul's celebrates many sacraments. On this page, please find information about

Marriages

Because this is such a beautiful chapel, there have been many weddings here, both Catholic and Protestant.
Parishioners of St. Paul the Apostle Chapel and their families have priority when scheduling weddings.
For Catholics from other parishes who wish to marry at St. Paul the Apostle Chapel, the bride and groom must be involved in a pre-marriage program at their parish and have written permission from their pastor to be married here.

Weddings for non-Catholics may also be held here, provided that the bride and groom bring in their own minister.

Catholics who wish to be married here must be free to be married in the Church (i.e., neither party has been married before or annulments have been obtained) and the Catholic party must show a readiness to practice his/her faith.

Catholic weddings require 6 months of sacramental preparation.

  • All prospective couples must meet with the pastor, Father Rubén Patiño, before a wedding date can be set.
  • We ask that those who use St. Paul’s for weddings will be careful to treat it as a place of worship and prayer.

Marriage Preparation Course

A marriage preparation course is offered to all prospective newlyweds.

  • Pre-marital formation classes are offered to all prospective newlyweds.
  • Registration for the classes must be done at least six months prior to the couple’s confirmed date for receiving the sacrament of matrimony at St. Paul the Apostle parish.
  • The classes are preceded by a required “Focus” examination currently being administered by the presiding pastor.
  • The classes are facilitated by a trained “sponsor” couple approved by the presiding pastor.
  • The classes require five separate meeting times coordinated with the sponsor couple.
  • The format is “casual conversation”, text guided.
  • Currently the text “For Better & For Ever” is the guideline for the course.
  • The course material encompasses a wide range of topics, including but not limited to; family history & tradition, financial & career considerations, Christian marriage: commitment / essential elements / spirituality, communication / problem solving / decision processes, natural family planning, sexuality / intimacy / parenthood, and planning the wedding.

Baptisms

Baptisms are held on a quarterly basis.
Parishioners who wish to have their children baptized here must attend classes with Father Rubén prior to the baptism.

Children of non-parishioners may be baptized here, provided that there is a family connection with a registered parishioner of St. Paul’s. Non-parishioners must bring a letter from their pastor, giving permission for Father Rubén to baptize their child. Parents must also show proof that they have attended baptismal classes at their parish.
At least one godparent/sponsor must be a practicing Catholic who has been confirmed.

In addition to its stunning main chapel, the complex also has a small chapel, an ecumenical library, a large meeting room, kitchen facilities, offices and priest's residence. All buildings are fully accessible to persons with disabilities.
